For 0.8.x you can safely use any page >4. For 0.9.x a cap can be set on the number of pages available to esxDOS, the rest will be available for other stuff (and you will be able to get this info from a syscall).

Is there some information on which divmmc memory pages esxdos reserves for itself?

I assume it needs pages for dot commands and buffers. I'd like to bank available ram pages in the bottom 16k without interfering with esxdos.
