From Facebook-Group "DivMMC and DivIDE interface for ZX Spectrum and Sam Coupe":

Mario Prato:

Hi Guys,
I recently added a new feature into the divmmc cpld, allram mode, it makes possible to map ram into the first 16K instead of speccy rom, this memory may be also write protected to act like a new rom and automatic mapping can be disabled too.
See the videos, now it's possible to load a modified 128K rom from Velesoft and make divmmc work in 128K editor and basic (dot commands are ok). Or we can load a +3e rom for divmmc (in the video I load Workbench +3e).
I know there are lots of different divmmcs and this firmware is only for the ones that follow my original schematic (Ben's for example).
Jedec file is on my github page, source will be avalaible soon: https://github.com/mprato/DivMMC

Videos are in Facebook, and not in Youtube, so I can not post Youtube-Links here.

Div2k14, how to update?

Hi,
I do have a div2k14 from Loratek.

I do have two questions:
1) it's suposed to be DIVIDE (and not DIVMMC), right?
2) It has esxdos 0.8.5. I set the jumper settings for updating, and launched the DIVIDE.TAP file, but it ends with an error. Maybe I can't update it from the EsxDOS loaded itself? I should move to another firmware before updating? Is there any trick for it?

Thanks!

ESXDOS on Mike Sterlings Spectrum core on MIST board

I have modified Mike Stirlings ZX spectrum core
http://www.mike-stirling.com/retro-fpga … n-an-fpga/

to implement a DIVMMC instead of ZXMMC. The resulting setup runs msxdos just nicely:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2KloBbW6Qc

The board being used is the MiST board and the modified source code is available at:
https://code.google.com/p/mist-board/

Thanks for the great esxdos.

I have just once tiny feature request: Can you make the NMI menu usable via a kempston joystick? I mapped the NMI button to the fourth fire button of the USB gamepads i use. If the menu itself would also be joystick usable then the whole setup could be used with nothing but the joystick.

Hi,
I implemented ZX Spectrum on an Altera DE1 board and would like to add esxdos to it. How do you suggest I start with it?
I could not find the esxdos sources (are they public?) which could show the exact hardware requirements in terms of the pins, memory map etc. I would just like to map SD Card to it for the moment.

Can you help me get started?
Thanks!

ESXDOS in the ZX-Uno hardware: NMI not working.

Hi! I've just added support for DIVMMC to the ZX-Uno core (more info about this clone here: http://zxuno.speccy.org/index_e.shtml ). This DIVMMC implementation features ESXDOS 0.8.5.

Everything works fine except for NMI. Everytime I issue a NMI, the computer freezes or reboots.

All automapper entries have been implemented: 0000, 0008, 0038, 0066, 04C6, and 0562. All these addresses switch to the ESXDOS ROM after the M1 cycle has ended. TRDOS entry points also behave as expected (TRDOS emulation works as well). Automapper exits (1FF8-1FFF) are also present.

However, I cannot get the NMI menu. How can I test whether NMI.SYS is being used/loaded, or how could I put my own code instead of the one in NMMI.SYS to see what is happening?

Thanks!

PS: I also tried with public beta 0.8.6 with the same outcome

DivMMC - Slow writing

Hi,

Some people have complained that writing a snapshot on the DivMMC takes as long as a full minute. This is due to the cards used and because esxDOS at the moment does not do multi-sector block writes. If you use a card that has a smaller internal flash block size you can expect good performance (even with the current version of esxDOS). Here's a couple of good cards for reference:

Toshiba SD-R04GJ(BL5 [SDHC 4GB]
Panasonic RP-SDU04G [SDHC 4GB]
Sandisk Extreme [SDHC 8GB]
