CD-Rom. Why you dont work with me?

I'm a happy owner of a divIDE Interface. In the characteristics of esxDOS it is indicated that it works on DivIDE with devices and I quote " HDD/CDROM/ZIP/LS120".
I was able, to my great joy, to get the mechanical HDD working, with several partitions. I was also able to put in an SD - IDE disk that I bought on Aliexpress without a problem.
What failed? I can't get a CD-Rom player working with divIDE. I have tried pure CD-ROM Readers, CD-ROM Reader and Writers from various brands without success. In desperation I tried DVD players too. I tried normal and recordable CDs but never had any success.
One hypothesis I put is that esxDOS gives up due to timeout. But I couldn't go much further. My insistence idea on the CD-ROM is to be able to show the kids a ZX Spectrum at work and also be able to see a reader with a transparent structure in operation to show how it worked. Excuse my dose of madness. Any idea i'll be pleased.

Sou um feliz proprietário de um divIDE Interface. Nas características do esxDOS, é indicado que funciona no DivIDE com dispositivos e passo a citar " HDD/CDROM/ZIP/LS120".
Consegui, para grande alegria minha, colocar disco HDD mecanico em funcionamento, com várias partições. Consegui também colocar um disco SD - IDE que comprei no Aliexpress sem problema.
O que falhou? Não consigo colocar um leitor de CD-Rom a trabalhar com o divIDE. Tentei leitores puro de CD-ROM, Leitor Gravador de CD-ROM de várias marcas sem êxito. Em desespero leitores de tentei Leitores de DVD também. Tentei CD normais e graváveis mas nunca tive qualquer êxito.
Uma hipótese que coloco é o esxDOS desistir por excesso de tempo no arranque do leitor de CD. Mas não consegui ir muito mais à frente. A minha ideia insistência no CD-ROM é poder mostrar aos garotos um ZX Spectrum a trabalhar e também poderem ver um leitor com estrutura transparente em funcionamento para mostrar como funcionava. Desculpem esta minha dose de loucura. Qualquer ideia fico agradecido.

Introducing, 2browse - a twin pane file manager for esxDOS based on my long filename browser code.
This is an early work-in-progress so don't use this for anything mission critical as it may chew up or corrupt your files. It requires a divMMC compatible device with at least 128k of memory. It also requires an existing installation of my long filename browser.
Copy the contents of the 2browse BIN folder to the /BIN folder on your SD Card. To run, from BASIC enter:
.2browse
or if you want to start browsing from a specific folder, in this case the /BIN folder:
.2browse /bin
2browse supports browser plugins and the majority of keys from the long filename browser with the following additions:
Extended Mode - Swap between windows
Caps Shift + M - Move selected file to other window
Caps Shift + C - Copy selected file to other window
The following browser keys are not supported in 2browse:
Caps Shift + S - Save snapshot
Caps Shift + K - Poke
Caps Shift + L - External command
Caps Shift + N - Default NMI
Symbol Shift + F - Toggle full-screen file browser
Known issues:
All file operations (Move, Copy, New Folder, Rename) are limited to 8.3 filenames.
If you copy a file and then perform the same copy again, you aren't prompted to overwrite or abort the copy. You just get a cryptic error message displayed.
2browse uses the BROWSE.CFG and font file from the long filename browser. Any changes you make to those will be carried over into 2browse.
Copy and move operations cannot be aborted once started.

**push** is a very small, yet feature rich shell for embedded systems.

While it builds successfully for all target platforms, it is only really working well on Linux and C64 (and most recently on ZX-Spectrum). The main reason is lacking/broken support for some features from the C runtime libraries on some platforms, most important CONIO and heap management. Hopefully over time the toolchains will provide those APIs.

The Makefile in `./push/src` contains various targets for compiling and testing:

TAR command

TAR is a new dot-command for esxDOS, now in the basic set of commands in the version 0.8.9.
The author of this treasure is ub880d. Thanks a lot!

TAR creates archives, which we will read with any universal archiver on the PC (try winrar or 7zip),
and on the contrary we will, in the esxDOS, unpack the tar-archive made on the PC.

Without having to increase the memory of your ZX Spectrum, you can eg. pack the entire directory on the card into one multi-megabytes file, directly to this card (20 MB is OK, I haven't tried hundreds of megabytes, with respect to time).

TAR is so far minimalist, with basic functions, but fully usable, it uses basic switches identical to the PC world,
ie. for the creation of a tar-archive, its extraction and listing of content.

The only difference is in the preview of operation logs.
If you do not want to be bothered by the SCROLL? query,
enter two ´v´ switches in a row.
